Alumnae Association - Activites      

‘URJITA – 2016’ - The Alumnae Entrepreneur Mela
P.V.Polytechnic Alumnae Association was formed in October, 2010 it already has more than 1000 registered alumnae members, actively working in various fields such as Food Industry, Medical Laboratory Technology, Fashion Industry, Ophthalmic Technology, Pharmacy, Interior Designing etc. to name the few.

The Association regularly arranges lectures for their members and current students, to make them aware about different government schemes for women entrepreneurs and also guiding them about how to take care of their own finances. The Association strongly believes in Maharshi Karve’s dream of women empowerment through education which makes them self-sufficient & financially independent.

After the overwhelming success of URJITA - an entrepreneur mela P.V.Polytechnic Alumnae Association  conducted ‘URJITA-2016, in February 2016,in P.V.Polytechnic from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm.

The objective of the event was to give an opportunity to women alumnae as well as other women entrepreneurs to unleash their talents and capabilities and to give the exposure of entrepreneurial endeavour to current students.

Around 65 different Stalls showcasing variety of products, ranging from books, food items, clothing items, handicrafts, cosmetics, jewellery, novelty items, gift articles, pottery, electronic items etc. were displayed. Apart from independent entrepreneurs there were few stalls of Khadi Gramodyog and Community Development through Polytechnic Cell of P V Polytechnic. Complimentary stalls were allotted to Arushi-Dept of special education and Pink Initiative – awareness for breast cancer.

Contribution of Alumnae towards various activities of P. V. Polytechnic

Ms. Sangeeta Varankar, Ms. Moha Kamat and Ms. Deepa Bajaj contributed towards conducting ‘Phlebotomy Course’ for Community Development through Polytechnic (CDtP)

 Ms. Archana Malpathak, Ms. Spirshika Malusare and Ms. Pooja Narkar contributed towards conducting ‘Bakery Course’ for Community Development through Polytechnic (CDtP).

Ms. Ketki Sarmalkar contributed towards conducting ‘Health check-up camp’ for Community Development through Polytechnic (CDtP).

Under the Staff Development Program, Ms. Anjali Damania sponsored the ‘Health Check-up Camp for P. V. Polytechnic Staff’ which was conducted by Ms. Ketki Sarmalkar and Ms. Sumathi Ramanujan.

Ms. Ketki Sarmalkar checked the Hemoglobin count of 73 contestants at Miss Tejaswini, the Inter-collegiate Personality Contest of S. N. D. T. Women’s University.

Ms.Yogita Rajgandhi , a distinguished alumna from the Dept. of Ophthalmic Technology and the Western zone Co-ordinator for All India Optometry Colleges co-ordinated with students and faculty of the Dept. for participation in various acadamic activities at the National level.

Ms. Anjali Damania, a distinguished alumna from the Dept. of Medical Laboratory Technology, donated various equipments for the department and provided an opportunity of ‘Observership’ to DMLT students in her Pathology Laboratory.
