‘URJITA – 2018’ - The Alumnae Entrepreneur Mela

The E-cell and Alumnae Association of Premlila Vithaldas Polytechnic  organized two-days entrepreneur event at College, on Wednesday, 24th January and Thursday, 25th January, 2018 from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm. The objective of the event was to give an opportunity to self-help groups, alumnae & women entrepreneurs  to unleash their talents and capabilities as entrepreneurs and to give the exposure of entrepreneurial endeavor to our current students.

 

The event also included-

1. Inauguration of E-Cell of Premlila Vithaldas Polytechnic, SNDTWU by Hon Vice Chancellor Prof Shashikala Wanjari and Alumnae of Food Tech dept Ms. Falguni Thakker, MD & Owner of Miss Falguni Classes who is also among the founder donar of Association

 

2. Skill based workshops for entrepreneurs on different topics like Jewelry making, bakery and Liquid embroidery conducted by experts. Around 100 participants took benefit of these workshop.

 

There were around 70 entrepreneurs, showcasing variety of products, ranging from ready-made clothes, household items, books, cosmetics, jewellery, food stuffs to foot wear, novelty items, etc.

 

This year Alumnae association took a new step by offering stalls to LGBT community and offering them the opportunity of self-empowerment.

Contribution of Alumnae towards various activities of P. V. Polytechnic

Ms. Sangeeta Varankar, Ms. Moha Kamat and Ms. Deepa Bajaj contributed towards conducting ‘Phlebotomy Course’ for Community Development through Polytechnic (CDtP)

Ms. Archana Malpathak, Ms. Spirshika Malusare and Ms. Pooja Narkar contributed towards conducting ‘Bakery Course’ for Community Development through Polytechnic (CDtP).

Ms. Ketki Sarmalkar contributed towards conducting ‘Health check-up camp’ for Community Development through Polytechnic (CDtP).

Under the Staff Development Program, Ms. Anjali Damania sponsored the ‘Health Check-up Camp for P. V. Polytechnic Staff’ which was conducted by Ms. Ketki Sarmalkar and Ms. Sumathi Ramanujan.

Ms. Ketki Sarmalkar checked the Hemoglobin count of 73 contestants at Miss Tejaswini, the Inter-collegiate Personality Contest of S. N. D. T. Women’s University.

Ms.Yogita Rajgandhi, a distinguished alumna from the Dept. of Ophthalmic Technology and the Western zone Co-ordinator for All India Optometry Colleges co-ordinated with students and faculty of the Dept. for participation in various acadamic activities at the National level.

Ms. Anjali Damania, a distinguished alumna from the Dept. of Medical Laboratory Technology, donated various equipments for the department and provided an opportunity of ‘Observership’ to DMLT students in her Pathology Laboratory.
