The Center for Vocational and Technical education of SNDTWU at Premlila Vithaldas Polytechnic was established in 2017. The four year degree program in optometry was started with an intake of 30 students every year and a lateral entry to the diploma passed students to the second year . To start the degree program was the need of the hour in the field of vision care and primary eye care . It will be a highly skilled training program with 3 years of teaching and one year of internship. With emerging technology and advances in the field of optometry the department has prepared a Visioncare based skil development curriculum to make the students eligible to the needs of the optical Industry and work as primary eye care practitioners
